Just So You Know…

There’s no war on Christmas. I really think this stuff is out of control. Calm down Christians. Relax. Have Faith. Worry about yourself. Leave other people alone. If you read the blogs about this stuff it’s just crazy.
The Bible doesn’t tell us anywhere to celebrate Christmas. If I remember correctly, it was originally a pagan festival-turned religious. In fact, I don’t believe the Puritans were even allowed to observe Christmas. To me, Christmas is an excuse to get together with family and friends, which is wonderful, but it has become such an indulgent activity in so many ways, I think Christ would be repulsed and heartbroken. Sometimes, I wish Christmas would go away, because it is so difficult to observe it as anything to do with Christ. As a Christian, I try to use the season to connect and reach out to people who normally wouldn’t be open, but try to celebrate the birth of Christ every day of the year. Oh yeah, when someone tells you Happy Holidays, remember that Holiday came from Holy Day—instead of being offended, we could use that greeting as a reminder to thank Christ for coming.
Great thoughts mom!
Dan- Did you see the clip from the Daily Show. Stewart claimed responsibility for the war on Christmas. It was nice.
yes, that was great!
The war on Christmas is disheartening. Why can’t Christians keep that to themselves and use that energy to do something Christian.
Your mom posts on your blog?
