I’m collecting some really good links for studying the Bible, church history and ministry skills. Here are some of them.
www.studylight.org This has most versions of the Bible, cross-refs etc…
www.biblegateway.com Pretty much the same as Study Light.
www.zhubert.com Read the Greek with English definitions. Many helps.
www.biblemap.org This will show you on google maps where any location in the Bible was.
www.ccel.org This link has all the great church father’s writings collected in one place. You could spend years here.
www.biblicaltraining.org You can listen to free seminary classes here. Very cool.
www.bible.com There are free Seminary classes here too. And much more.
Please let me know if there are more sites I should add!
our bibletraining.org link leads to the wrong place, i think you meant biblicaltraining.org
where did my Y go? “Your bibletraining.org link…”
Awesome, I’ve been craving a list like this for a while.
blbi.org is another good one, I have been enjoying some lectures on there.
Brett, thanks for catching that. I don’t understand your second comment.
Good link Pete, I haven’t seen that one before, but good profs there!
This is awesome; thanks Dan!
If you’re looking for something to use offline, try http://www.e-sword.net. They have most of the public domain translations along with a bunch of commentaries and other things. I taught a class of older adults at my parents’ church how to use it to supplement their Bible study.
I just heard of this site: http://www.youversion.com/
Lifechurch.tv is putting this site together. I’ve been told that you can read several different versions of the Bible online and also leave your own commentary wikipedia style. It’s an interesting idea.
Lately I’ve been spending a ton of time at: http://mondaymorninginsight.com/index.php
This guy used to be the churchstaffing.com guy. Now he puts up tons of church leadership related articles. At least 3 or 4 new articles each day. I’ve found something interesting every single day I’ve visited his site. He gets extra points for a sense of humor too. He recently did a spoof post about how Willow Creek was going to shut down their weekend services for the “summer schedule”. He wrote it like a professional article and had fake quote from Bill Hybels and everything. Willow Creek said that they got hundreds of emails begging them not to shut down for summer!
Yeah, I just read about youversion.com, interesting. Also MMI, is a must read everyday. One of my co-pastors, Noel just met with Todd Rhodes this past week. Very good info for people in ministry.
